Watford Nursery praised by Ofsted

Our Watford Junction Nursery has received a glowing Ofsted report following a recent inspection which praised its use of sensory experiences, outdoor spaces and involving pre-school children in democratic exercises.

The Watford Junction Co-operative Childcare on Station Road has been rated ‘good’ by the governing body for education, having implemented a ‘children’s council’ to encourage pre-school children to build their self-esteem by taking some responsibility for the nursery’s activities. It also helps to prepare them for school by encouraging them to serve their own meals and develop their computer skills.

Cam kids host garden party for local charity

Children at our Cam nursery have raised nearly £500 for Longfields Care Hospice after hosting a community fun day in their garden last weekend.

Colleagues and children from the Woodfield Road nursery took advantage of the good weather to come together with friends and families to enjoy the fundraising event, which had tractor rides, a bouncy castle, arts and crafts stall, and even a mini nail bar.

Colleagues at our Leamington Spa nursery on Spencer Street took to the streets recently to walk eight miles in the Myton Hospice Midnight Walk, raising £569 for their annual charity partner.

Newbiggin Nursery opens £10,000 refurbished garden

Our Co-operative Childcare nursery in Newcastle welcomed a special guest, a new rabbit named by the children, to launch the £10,000 refurbishment of its outdoor play area.

Following the investment, the garden at the nursery on Newbiggin Lane now features new grass areas, climbing frame and a sandpit, as well as a ‘mud kitchen’, helping to inspire imagination and creativity in a fun setting

Dewsbury Nursery hosts summer fair as preschool leavers celebrate graduation

The Dewsbury community enjoyed a morning of fun and celebrations, as The Co-operative Childcare hosted its annual summer fair and pre-school graduation ceremony, raising over £500 for Guide Dogs for the Blind.

There was a whole host of exciting games and activities at the event, including a bouncy castle, face painting, hook a duck and a tombola.

Burton nursery supports stillbirth charity

Colleagues, children and parents at our nursery in Burton have raised £1,200 and collected hundreds items for hampers which have been donated to a special bereavement suite for parents at Burton Hospitals’ Queen’s site.

The Co-operative Childcare in Burton, based at the hospital on Belvedere Road, has been collecting blankets, small knitted baby clothes, toiletries and keepsakes, to fill up hampers which have been given to Snowdrop Suite to support parents experiencing infant bereavement.
