Oxford students get a helping hand on the career ladder from national nursery chain

The Co-operative Childcare has been helping to make people in Oxford more employable with a skills day which resulted in eight students securing potential jobs with the chain.

16-19 year old Early Years and Health and Social Care students were joined at City of Oxford College by professionals from The Co-operative’s local nurseries, who offered advice and support on how to prepare for work in the childcare sector, through CV classes and mock interviews.

Nursery chef recognised for great service at Childcare Awards

A committed chef in Gloucestershire has been crowned Chef of the Year at The Co-operative Childcare Awards after producing easy-to-follow cook books to help children make their own dishes. 

Emma Stokes, chef at The Co-operative Childcare in Cainscross on Westward Road, was praised for encouraging children to get involved with preparing their own meals and has written cook books for parents to provide a healthy and nutritious diet both in and outside of the nursery.

BLACKBIRD LEYS CHILDREN CELEBRATED CLASSICS THIS WORLD BOOK DAY

Nursery children in Blackbird Leys got back to basics with books this week, as they shared their favourite ‘old school’ stories for World Book Day.

The children were tasked with asking their families about the books they used to read when they were little, or something they’ve read together from an early age to help share some inspiration on good books to read.

Chichester children get a flavour of far afield places this Fairtrade Fortnight

Chichester nursery children have been learning about the importance of supporting farmers in developing countries this week, by creating a Fairtrade feast as part of Fairtrade Fortnight.

Children at The Co-operative Childcare based in St. Richard’s Hospital got together to share a big breakfast, as part of this year’s Fairtrade Fortnight theme which encourages people across to UK to ‘sit down for breakfast, to stand up for farmers’ who grow some of the food and drink we have every morning.
