LITTLE ONES PIONEER CHILDREN’S BOOK COLLECTION

To celebrate the successful launch of its new pre-school programme, The Co-operative Childcare has taken its first step into children’s literature, launching a five-book series that has been co-created by children, colleagues and a children’s author, Pippa Pixley.

Pippa, who has worked on a number of picture books in the past, has been working closely with The Co-operative Childcare pre-schoolers and colleagues in creative sessions to craft the ‘Little Pioneers’ book series.

NEARLY 90% OF PARENTS THINK THEIR PRE-SCHOOL CHOICE COULD INFLUENCE CHILDREN’S PLACE AT PRIMARY SCHOOL

Almost 90% of parents believe their child has a higher chance of securing a place at a desired primary school if they attend its pre-school, according to research commissioned by The Co-operative Childcare – despite it not being the most important factor in school admissions.

The study, conducted by Censuswide, surveyed over 1,000 parents with children aged between two-and-a-half and five-years-old. The research revealed that 87% of parents believe that their son or daughter would be more likely to get in to their preferred primary school, if they attend an incorporated pre-school.

NURSERIES IN NEWCASTLE SUPPORT LOCAL CHILDREN’S CHARITIES

Two children’s charities in Newcastle have received a generous donation of over £3,000 from The Co-operative Childcare, through the fundraising efforts of children and colleagues over the summer.

The chain’s Newburn, Newbiggin and Newcastle nurseries came together to raise money for two chosen charities, Tiny Lives and Children’s Heart Unit Fund (CHUF), with a series of events and toddle waddle, where children were sponsored to walk a mile.

TADWORTH TOTS REVAMPING NURSERY WITH HELP FROM LOCAL COMMUNITY

Children and colleagues at Tadworth-nursery are appealing to the local community to donate plants and equipment, so its pre-schoolers can enjoy the outdoors all year round.   

The Co-operative Childcare, based on Tadworth Court, has already established a fun and educational garden, and colleagues are now looking to turn the space in to a sensory experience for the infants.
