Day Nursery Dursley, Cam

Welcome to The Co-operative Childcare

About our nursery

At The Co-operative Childcare nurseries, we never underestimate how difficult a decision it is to leave your child in the care of others and our aim is to ensure that you have all the information you need to make this very important decision.

At The Co-operative Childcare nursery Dursley, Cam, we pride ourselves on our warm and welcoming atmosphere. The nursery is set in a converted house therefore has that home from home feel that helps our children to feel safe and secure. There are 4 home rooms within our day nursery split into the following age groups: 0-2 year olds, 2-3 year olds, 3-5 year olds.

What our parents say

Supportive, caring, fun and professional staff.  We can see the staff genuinely cares about our children. Our children have certainly learnt loads and loads from all the different activities they've been offered which I would never have done at home with them. Thank you!

Both my children have been through all three stages at the nursery and we have found all the staff to be a joy to work with. My children have been happy to go into nursery and form strong bonds with those looking after them. I can thoroughly recommend the environment to be a caring, secure, stimulating place for your children.

A lovely, friendly nursery. The staff teach the children to be kind and caring towards others and play nicely together. I can go to work, secure in the knowledge that our boys have always been safe, happy and contented there and I would highly recommend it.

Lovely staff, very attentive, caring and always listen to new ideas etc from parents. Always doing fund raising events for charity. My daughter loves it here, it has the feel of a 'big family'.

This nursery is fantastic with fabulous caring staff who nurture and encourage children s if they were their own. My son is so happy to go here each day and is thriving. All round excellent nursery with wonderful staff, home cooked food and a nursery that is a real home from home.

Our little boy is so happy at this nursery. He has developed so much since starting there and the staff are fantastic with him. The activities they provide always catch his interest and he's learning new things all the time!!

Today is my daughter's last day at nursery. I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all the staff at nursery for everything they have done.

I have yet to be greeted at the front door with anything other than a huge smile. Every single member of staff is dedicated, professional and truly cares for the children. I don't mean care in the sense of nose wiping and nappy changing (but of course that happens too) I mean wanting each child to be happy and become the best they can be. I can trust each member of staff completely in everything from discipline to developing my child's confidence. I can't thank you all enough for the support and care you have offered over the years.

Thanks again. You are all amazing!

What we do

There are many activities in addition to the core learning and play that takes place at the nursery and supports the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. Active start physical education sessions take place once per fortnight at no extra charge to parents. At our day nursery, there is an option for children to take part in French lessons on a weekly basis for which there is a small charge.

Our People

Our nursery team are friendly and approachable and attend numerous training courses to enhance their knowledge, enabling them to provide the best care and enjoyable learning experiences for our children. All colleagues are qualified or working towards their qualifications and together they have over 70 years of experience in childcare. Our Nursery Dursley Manager Lisa has many years of experience in childcare. There is a dedicated, loyal team of 18 colleagues who provide the best possible care in a homely nursery setting.

Our nurseries team are also proud to have been awarded the Bristol Standards Quality Improvement Certificate (Birth to Five) in November 2010 in recognition of the continuing reflective journey and constant improvements made.

Outdoor Facilities

The nursery has a car park to the front of the building for easy access. There is a garden to rear and side of the building. The garden includes a nature area, a growing area, 2 soft play areas and a dedicated baby garden The nursery Dursley is a small friendly neighbourhood day nursery which is very much part of the local community. There is access to many local facilities including park, woodland, ambulance station, farm, police station and library for children’s outings.

Parents as Partners

Daily diaries and notice boards are used to inform parents of activities on a daily basis. Monthly newsletters are produced and emailed where possible and parent's evenings are held regularly throughout the year to discuss the children’s progress. The key person approach is used to maintain consistency and to develop close relationships with not only our children but their parents and carers also. Each room in our nursery Dursley has a planning board which explains what, how and why we do activities and each child has a learning journey file which documents their development and parents are able to freely access these at all times. Outside agencies i.e. speech therapists, health visitors and family services are liaised with closely in order to offer the best possible care for all children. Visits to the day nursery from preschool practitioners and primary teachers are also encouraged in order to help make transitions between settings as easy as possible for both children and parents.

Recommend a friend and if they register their child you'll both receive £50 OFF | T&C's apply
