What we do

Activities

There are many activities in addition to the core learning and play that takes place at the nursery and supports the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework. These activities are planned in advance and very often with parent participation.

The nursery is currently involved in Forest school initiative and holds weekly sessions for the pre-school children. The aim of the Forest school approach is to encourage and inspire children through positive outdoor experiences and to build on children's natural curiosity, enhancing personal, social and emotional development. Our day nursery also holds weekly sing and sign sessions for children from birth to three which aids communication.

The nursery team also take full advantage of the location and regularly take the children on trips to local places of interest including the park and the library.

Our People

Our nursery team are friendly, approachable, enthusiastic and passionate about the care of our children. There is a dedicated, loyal team of 28 colleagues who help our children to have the best start in life in a bright modern purpose built nursery setting. All the day nursery team have attended numerous training courses to enhance their knowledge, enabling them to provide superior care and enjoyable learning experiences for our children. Most of our employees are either level 3 or level 2 qualified with 2 working towards an appropriate early year’s qualification. Our Nursery Manager Danielle has worked in childcare for 14 years and has also completed her BA degree in Early Childhood Studies and Early Years Professional Status.

Outdoor Facilities

The nursery has its own garden with many different areas for the children to play in and explore. There is a sensory area, vegetable patch and a small hill to provide as much of a natural environment as possible. The children have taken part in creating a tranquil area within the garden where they can sit quietly, learn about nature and, explore their senses with different smells, textures and tastes.

In our day nursery, we aim to provide plenty of opportunities for physical play with a large range of outdoor toys and activities available for our children to access at all times. The children also play in the large beach sand pit which provides endless fun and imaginative play.

There is a large car park area for parents to drop off and pick up in and the nursery is situated close to bus routes to and from Witney, Oxford and Swindon.

Parents as Partners

The parents have various information boards located in the reception area and throughout the nursery which has a variety of useful information. In the various 0-3 year olds home rooms they have a daily diary book which includes the children’s daily information of how they have been, including sleep, food, nappies and anything that they have enjoyed during the day.

The 3-5 year olds carers give verbal feedback to our parents on a daily basis. Regular newsletters are sent to parents to keep them updated on up and coming events and we encourage parent participation in many of them. Our nurseries also encourage parents to give feedback through our Tickled Pink and Green for Growth display boards, which are used as part of our self-evaluation process.

Parent evenings are offered at regular intervals throughout the year where the child’s key person discusses the child's development with their parents and there is also an annual questionnaire for parents to give structured feedback on all areas of the nursery. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s learning by informing the nursery team what has been taking place at home and by participating in special events. Parents are also encouraged to nominate staff members for our employee of the month award

What our parents say

The staff are caring and attentive and they offer a variety of activities. They also listen to parents feedback and involve parents in everything that they do. My daughters have loved going to nursery there and have enjoyed every session. The food is also fantastic!

Georgia and Lilly's mum

Lottie has attended since she was one. There is never an issue with her going as she enjoys it so much. The staff are attentive and the management is excellent. I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

Lottie's mum

It is an amazing nursery - the staff are always friendly and happy to see the children. The facilities are purpose-built and designed very well so that the children can mix with all the other children at the nursery (whether they are in the same age or not).

Austin's mum

My grandson has been going to the nursery for 2 months now, he settled in well and loves his key worker and buddy key worker. I would whole heartedly recommend this nursery to anyone.

My daughter loves every minute at the Nursery. It is a happy and safe environment for her. The staff are fantastic, they feel like friends as they all know both my daughter and her parents on sight. They are also very professional. We have always been treated in an efficient & friendly manner. The food provided is of an excellent standard, I often find myself a bit jealous of what she has had for lunch. Weather permitting I know my daughter will have had some fresh air, she loves the outside mud-kitchen! It is excellent value for money as all food, nappies & wipes etc are included in the price and the hours available are longer than other nurseries in the area.

Wonderful friendly staff, beautiful rooms, delicious food. My daughter settled brilliantly and I have no concerns. I would 100% recommend to anyone.

Friendly and lovely staff. Home cooked food. Good opening hours.
