What we do

There are many activities in addition to the core learning and play that takes place within the nursery and supports the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.

All activities are planned in advance with each individual child's interests at the heart of the activities and the environment – this ensures all children have an action packed fun filled day. This is done through regular observations and discussions with parents and carers.

As the nursery has additional areas (soft play and sensory), the day nursery team plan a wide range of activities to take full advantage of the environment on offer, allowing the children to experience a variety of learning opportunities.

Our ethos is that our children set the scene and pace of the day. Through our flexibility we follow the children's interests and allow them to take the lead. We believe that children learn best through play that is well planned and purposeful. We thrive on ensuring that our children grow into confident and competent learners. It is crucial that our nurseries provide them with the best possible start in life.

Our People

Our nursery team are friendly, approachable and enthusiastic, having a genuine love and desire to improve the quality of care and education available to all children. There is a dedicated Management team who are responsible for ensuring the day-to-day provision of services to an extremely high standard, with a loyal team of colleagues who help the children have the best start in life in a spacious and bright modern nursery setting. All the nurseries team have attended numerous training courses to enhance their knowledge, enabling them to provide superior care and enjoyable learning experiences for our children. They are all qualified to NVQ level 3 or working towards their qualifications.

Outdoor Facilities

Our nurseries aim to provide plenty of opportunities for physical play with a large range of outdoor toys and activities available for our children to access at all times. Our nursery has a two storey wooden house, for those imaginative play moments and a large wooden play structure for those children who want to explore and climb.

There is a car park area for parents to drop off and pick up in and the nursery is a ten minute walk from the town centre of Royal Leamington Spa.

Parents as Partners

The parents have an information board located in the reception areas which have a variety of useful information. In the various 0-3 year olds home rooms they have a feedback sheet which includes the children's daily information of how they have been, including sleep, food, nappies and anything that they have enjoyed during the day. The 3-5 year olds carers give verbal feedback to the parent on a daily basis. Regular newsletters are sent to parents to keep them updated on up and coming events and we encourage parent participation in many of them. Parent evenings are offered at regular intervals throughout the year where the child's key person discusses the child's development with their parents and there is also an annual survey for parents to give structured feedback on all areas of the nursery. We have a parent group which meets once a term and encourages parents to give feedback about various nursery topics of discussion. Parents are encouraged to be involved in their child's learning by informing the nursery team what has been taking place at home and by participating in special events.

We are dedicated to working in partnership with our parents and have recently created our own parent representative group. The aim of the group is to share ideas/suggestions and create development plans for the day nursery. They are also a support barrier in assisting the nursery in planning fun days and charity events.

What our parents say

The staff are very friendly. They are caring and fun and my daughter really trusts them and loves nursery. They constantly provide stimulating activities and feedback regularly about her development. They have been very flexible and accommodating, when I have needed to change my daughters sessions.
