Day Nursery Maidenhead

Welcome To The Co-operative Childcare

About our nursery

The childcare nursery is in a lovely purpose built setting with large spacious rooms. There are four rooms within our nursery split into the following age groups: two rooms for the 0- 2 year olds, one room for the 2 to 3 year olds and one room for the 3 to 5 year olds.

All of the day nursery rooms have video monitored door releases to ensure our children's safety is paramount at all times. The kitchen is on site which is accessed via a secure door from the reception area. All of the rooms are self contained and there is sleep area, nappy change/toilet area and a milk kitchen for the younger children's rooms.

What our parents say

My daughter has been going to this nursery for nearly a year and after the initial tears had passed she now loves it. She has her favourite staff members and often talks about them at weekends and gets excited at the prospect of seeing her friends. The quality of food is good and the level of care is excellent. You really feel like they know the individual characters of the children and how to care for each of them. The daily feedback sheets are very thorough and helpful.

The communication from the nursery is superb with regards to the daily activities and parents evenings. The menu is delicious the staff are highly professional and the activities and facilities are diverse and well maintained.

What we do

In our nurseries, all the activities for our children our planned to their individual needs and interests, with a range of opportunities available to them. To support the children's learning, the mobile library visits twice a month and children can choose their own books to share with each other in the book corners.

As part of our community work the nursery has adopted a donkey from the local donkey sanctuary. The children receive regular updates about Pollyanne and she also comes to the nursery for visits.

Our People

Our nursery team are friendly, approachable and have attended numerous training courses to enhance their knowledge, enabling them to provide the best care and enjoyable learning experiences for our children in each nursery. All colleagues are qualified or working towards their qualifications and together they have over 100 years of experience in childcare. Our Nursery Manager Emma has dedicated, loyal team of 22 colleagues who help our children to have the best start in life in a brightly refurbished modern nursery setting.

Outdoor Facilities

The nursery has two large, secure, private garden areas, one for the younger children under the age of two and one for the older children over two years of age. The outdoor areas have a variety of play surfaces from grass to soft play tarmac. In our day nursery there is a play house and a variety of outdoor equipment including bats, balls, bikes and a climbing frame with a slide and a tunnel. The children also have an allotment area where they learn how to take care of plants, herbs, vegetables and flowers and enjoy watching them grow.

All indoor rooms have immediate access to the outdoor areas and the nursery team actively encourage 'free flow play' where the outside area is treated as an extension of each of our rooms.

Parents as Partners

The parents have an information board located in the reception area of our nurseries, which has a variety of useful information. In the various 0-3 year olds home rooms they have a feedback sheet which includes the children's daily information of how they have been, including sleep, food, nappies and anything that they have enjoyed during the day. The 3-5 year olds carers give verbal feedback to the parent on a daily basis. Regular newsletters are sent to parents to keep them updated on up and coming events and we encourage parent participation in many of them. Parent evenings are offered at regular intervals throughout the year where the child's key person discusses the child's development with their parents and there is also an annual survey for parents to give structured feedback on all areas of the nursery. The nursery has a well established Parent forum that meet regularly to discuss nursery updates/views and to help organise fun days and parent social evenings.

A word from the nursery manager:

The nursery is a bright, friendly and happy. The team are always friendly and approachable.

We have a fantastic large and secure garden area that the children love to explore and investigate, and through free flow play our outdoor garden area is used as an extension of our indoor rooms.
