What we do

Activities

In our nurseries, we ensure that every child has a key person who will meet and greet the children, plan activities individually which are suitable and appropriate to support their learning and development. Our day nursery team implement the Early Years Foundation Stage guidelines in our everyday practice and focus on 7 areas of development including three Prime areas: Physical development, Communication and Language and Personal, Social and Emotional Development and four Specific areas: Mathematical Development, Literacy, Expressive Arts and Design and Understanding the World.

We have different areas in the nursery to support children’s play and exploration which include role play areas, construction, mark making, creative and messy areas, rest area and ICT including computers.

Our People

Our nursery team are friendly, approachable and have attended numerous training courses to enhance their knowledge, enabling them to provide the best care and enjoyable learning experiences for our children. All colleagues are fully qualified to NVQ level 2 and the majority are trained to NVQ level 3 in Children’s care, Learning and Development.

The majority of our day nursery team are also Paediatric First aid trained. We offer in house training as we have our own training room which includes a large TV screen for presentations. Furthermore all colleagues are encouraged to refresh their knowledge regularly through attending relevant training sessions.

Outdoor Facilities

Outstanding outside area almost costing £200,000 with an amazing array of equipment, including water feature area, large slide, small slide, sand pit, tepee, mud kitchen, planting area and road for bikes and cars.

We have artificial grass to ensure the children can play and explore in all weathers which includes a shock absorber to reduce the risk of injuries when running around outside.

Parents as Partners

We welcome all parents to become a parent representative for the nursery; we hold meetings a few times a year to discuss ideas including fundraising activities. We value all parents’ opinions and regularly encourage new parents to participate. At our day nursery, we hold three parent evenings a year for parents to discuss the children’s learning and development and meet with their key person.

We use WOW vouchers to encourage parents to share with the nursery what they have been learning at home, we then share these with the children during circle times and display their achievements on the wall. Due to our extended opening hours it allows parents to come and visit and talk to the team in the morning when they drop off and when they come to collect.

What our parents say

My son is so happy at the baby room, he loves the staff and facilities! He loves the outside space and has settled extremely quick! He has a great day doing different activities and is always smiling when I arrive to pick him up!

This nursery is the reason I could study at Sussex University. I think it is absolutely fantastic, so nurturing, committed and thorough. I feel totally confident my daughter will not only be really well looked after, but she will flourish too!. Really really impressed.

I would like to convey just how happy I am with the new improved nursery. The facilities are out of this world, especially the garden. The staff are fantastic and I love that my son gets wholesome, different meals to try in a social setting. Alice, my son's 1-1 worker is amazing, it's obvious how she works hard to address my son's individual needs, her enthusiasm and care for him and his development is fantastic and consistent. Evident in how much he adores her! Very, very happy mummy all round. Thank you! I cannot recommend enough.

A brand new nursery with an excellent and adventurous outside space. Experienced and committed staff and child centred approach to learning. My children are happy here.

Fantastic, fun and energetic atmosphere. Very modern environment. Friendly staff - excellent equipment.

All the staff are great. My son has a great time - settled very well. Would recommend to a friend.
