Day Nursery Waterloo

Welcome To The Co-operative Childcare

About our nursery

At The Co-operative Childcare nurseries, we never underestimate how difficult a decision it is to leave your child in the care of others and our aim is to ensure that you have all the information you need to make this very important decision.

The Co-operative Childcare nursery is a stimulating, safe and secure environment for your child and we pride ourselves on our warm and welcoming atmosphere.

What we do

There are many activities in addition to the core learning and play that takes place at the nursery and supports the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework. These activities are planned in advance and very often with parent participation.

Our People

Our day nursery team are friendly, approachable and have fully embraced the ethos of the Early Years Foundation Stage, enabling them to provide outstanding care and enjoyable learning experiences for our children. All colleagues are qualified or working towards their qualifications and together they have over 100 years of experience in childcare. Our Nursery Waterloo Manager, Kim, has worked in childcare for over 20 years and there is a dedicated, loyal team of 18 colleagues who help our children to have the best possible start in life in a brightly refurbished modern nursery setting.

Outdoor Facilities

The nursery has two of its own safe and secure garden areas to the front and rear of the Nursery, where if you listen carefully, you can hear Big Ben chime.

Babies have the opportunity to freely access their own separate outdoor space which has a safe, soft surface with sand pit and flower borders. Older children can enjoy a very natural 'forest' feel space with a climbing/balance area, wooden house and sensory planting borders. There is also a covered area to provide shelter to ensure that children can access the outdoors in all weather conditions. We aim to provide plenty of opportunities for physical play with a large range of outdoor toys and activities available for our children to access at all times.

Our day nursery Waterloo is conveniently located only minutes from a main bus route, underground and train links.

Parents as Partners

At our Waterloo nursery, the parents have an information board located in the reception area which has a variety of useful information. In the various 0-3 year olds home rooms, they have a feedback sheet which includes the children's daily information of how they have been – this will include sleep, food, nappies and anything that they have enjoyed during the day. The 3-5 year olds carers give verbal feedback to the parent on a daily basis. At our day nursery, regular newsletters are sent to parents to keep them updated on up and coming events and we encourage parent participation in many of them. Parents evening are offered at regular intervals throughout the year where the child's key person discusses the child's development with their parents and there is also an annual survey for parents to give structured feedback on all areas of the nursery.

What our parents say

All our experiences have been very good. When we have concerns, they are dealt with swiftly. Special thanks to Sumi, Ava and Amy for their care and help.

Really happy with current and previous key person - bonded very well and see very ositive changes in her personality.

I have had a good experience. Staff are nice and professional. pleased to have them looking after my children.

My son has been at the nursery full time since he was 7 months old. He absolutely loves it there. The staff are all very caring, gentle and kind and he does many lovely activities. The staff also take great care of his needs as he has eczema and they go out of their way to help him.

My daughter, who is now 7 and my son who is 4 have both been at this nursery since they were both 7 months old. So, the staff, many of whom have been there since my children started there, are truly like family. The staff form amazing relationships with the children and my children certainly have been extremely happy there. Kim Rielly is an excellent manager and the care the children get is top quality.

I have been thoroughly impressed with the care and compassion shown to both my son and I while he settled in and since then. He loves the range of toys and activities and has developed greatly since starting. Despite being on a special diet, this has been no trouble at all and the staff have even asked the kitchen for bigger portions because he enjoys it so much. Everyone takes a real interest in him individually, he is not just another kid! Well done team, keep up the good work.
