What our parents say

The girls in Butterfly are very welcoming and work very hard to make sure my daughter's stay is enjoyable. They are also very good at giving information at the end of the day to make sure I am satisfied on what Maisey's day has been like. She has been here for 8 months and has come along fantastically with the help from the Co-operative Nursery. 10/10.

Friendly, caring atmosphere. My twins are developing and learning all the time and really enjoy going to nursery. They are happy and well attached to nursery staff. My twins enjoy singing songs taught by staff, enjoy arts and crafts provided by the nursery staff and have new and exciting things to do everyday. Staff keep me well informed of how my twins have been and what they have been doing every day. I am also pleased that my twins have a healthy, nutritious and varied diet at nursery.

I have highly recommended this nursery, the staff are wonderful, helpful and great with all the children. The best I did was bring my little boy to this nursery. My baby boy has now grown into a little lovely big boy.

What we do

Activities

There are many activities in addition to the core learning and play that takes place at the nursery and supports the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework. Children enjoy days out to the zoo or local park and parents are encouraged to participate in many activities also. A graduation celebration is held for the children who leave nursery to go to school. The children enjoy making their own costumes and our nursery team present them with a certificate. A photographer visits the day nursery at least twice a year to take photographs of the children and their families if they wish. We like to celebrate the children’s successes in the nursery and encourage parents to share in their achievements.

Our People

At The Co-operative Childcare Nursery Wythenshawe we pride ourselves on our highly qualified, experienced and established staff team, many of whom have worked here for several years. The qualifications range from NVQ Level 2 to NVQ Level 4 and also our deputy manager, Sam, is studying towards achieving her Foundation Degree in Early Years.

Our nursery team are friendly, approachable, professional and committed to delivering high quality childcare and education, taking pride in their individual roles.

Outdoor Facilities

There is an extensive enclosed garden area which is tastefully sectioned off to provide safe play areas even if all age groups are out at the same time. There is also a large grassy area with trees that provide ample shade in the summer. A sensory garden is in progress currently, and will contain a range of tactile and aromatic plants for the children to get involved in. At our day nursery, there are plenty of opportunities for physical play with a large range of outdoor equipment including climbing frames, bikes and trikes.

Free Ample parking is available for dropping off and collecting children.

Parents as Partners

The parents have an information board located in the reception area which has a variety of useful information. In the various 0-3 year olds home rooms they have a feedback sheet which includes the children’s daily information of how they have been, including sleep, food, nappies and anything that they have enjoyed during the day. The 3-5 year olds day nursery  carers give verbal feedback to the parent on a daily basis. Regular newsletters are sent to parents to keep them updated on up and coming events and we encourage parent participation in many of them. When parents join the nursery they are asked to complete an information from home sheet which will help the key person to settle the child into the nursery environment. Parents evening are offered at regular intervals throughout the year where the child’s key person discusses the child's development with their parents and there is also an annual survey for parents to give structured feedback on all areas of the nursery.
